(a) Muhammad- a prophet & founder of Islam. At age 40, he began to have revelations from Allah that became the basis for the Koran and the foundation of Islam. By 630 he had unified most of Arabia under a single religion.

(b) Khadija- The first wife and first follower of Muhammad.

(c) Kaaba- Islams most important mosque. It's the most sacred site in Islam.

(d) ''peoples of the Book,''- Islamic term which refers to Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians, as well as the imprecisely defined group referred to as Sabians.

(e) Umayyads- A member of a Muslim dynasty that ruled the Islamic world from AD 660 (or 661) to 750 and Moorish Spain from 756 to 1031.

(f) Abbassids- A member of the Abbasid dynasty.

(g) Ibn Sina- A Persian polymath who is regarded as one of the most significant physicians, astronomers, thinkers and writers of the Islamic Golden Age.
