are two epigenetic mechanisms that can prevent DNA from being accessible to transcription molecules. When the DNA is unwound, mo

lecules that bind to determine when and how to transcribe genes. When gene transcription begins, a special type of protein known as binds to a promoter and assembles RNA. An activator is a transcription factor that binds to and promotes transcription. A repressor is a transcription factor that binds to and prevents transcription. Even if a gene is transcribed, its ultimate translation and expression can be silenced by

Answer:

microRNAs

Explanation:

Within the cell, there are different types of regulatory non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) such as microRNAs (miRNAs), small-interfering RNAs (siRNAs), piwi-interacting RNAs (piRNAs), long ncRNAs, etc., which are able to regulate gene expression. miRNAs are evolutionary conserved small ncRNAs (typically 18-23 nucleotides in length) known to inhibit gene expression by base-pairing with complementary target mRNAs, and thus trigger RNA interference (RNAi) pathways (e.g., mRNA degradation, inhibition of translation, etc). These miRNAs form part of a ribonucleoprotein complex named RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) that acts to trigger RNAi mechanisms.

Why does incomplete dominance not support the blending theory of inheritance?
Nookie1986 [14]
Incomplete dominance can happen in flowers such as snap dragons where a red flower plant and a white flower plant have an offspring that is neither red nor white but is a mix so in this case it would be pink. It does not support the blending theory as it does not get its colour from the dominant plant in this case but from both.

The requirement of makes in an organism cell make up different from the cell makeup of an inanimate object
AleksandrR [38]

The requirement of energy makes an organism’s cell make up different from the cell makeup of an inanimate object.

All living things require energy from food in order to function properly. The energy from food is used through the metabolic processes.

Construct a concept map that shows how a population of bacteria can develop resistance to antibiotics.
Vsevolod [243]

The attached picture shows how bacteria gain antibiotic resistance. Firstly, a few individuals attain a beneficial mutation in their genetic material that accords them the capability to survive in an antibiotic. The individuals are hence able to survive and reproduce more than those individuals without the mutation. There is, therefore, a genetic shift in the population in favor of the resistant genotype. After generations, the whole population becomes antibiotic resistant.

What is a change in a DNA sequence called
Shkiper50 [21]
Mutation. this happens when a cell copies its DNA to divide. its more common than you may think, a "typo" occurs every 100, 000 or so nucleotides, thats about 120, 000 "typos" every time a cell divides.
