The sum of 7/8 and 4/9 is closer to 0,1,2,or 3?
tresset_1 [31]
2 because you make them with the same denominators that both go into each other EX: 8x9=72 7/8 now equals 63/72 and 4/9 now equals 28/72 now add them together 63/72 + 28/72= 91/72= 1 19/72

if riley had 6/5 of a cake and rico had 3/5, kiley had how much cake? (not subtraction or adding) (show work)
mixas84 [53]
Unless there is more than one cake, Riley could not have eaten 6/5 of a cake, as 6/5 is the same as 1 and 1/5, implying that Riley ate the whole cake, and then at another 1/5 of the cake that he had already eaten.
