For ancient Egyptians, burial was a ritual where the dead left the land of the living and entered the afterlife. Before the buri

al, the body had to be prepared. Not everyone could afford the same service.
All ancient Egyptians had some type of funeral ceremony to make the transition to the world of the dead. People with little money gave their used clothing as payment to the embalmer (the person preserving the mummy). A family with more money could have more work done. The body would be kept for 70 days in a chemical to preserve it. For a middle-class family, the embalmer might inject the body with oil of cedar or other perfumes. The wealthy had a more complex mummification process that included careful work on the brain and organs. When the bodies were dried and wrapped, they were given to their families in wooden coffins.

Read the passage carefully to determine its central idea and supporting evidence. Then choose the phrase that best completes each sentence.

How do negative political ads typically influence an election?
slega [8]

Answer: a. They educate undecided citizens about the candidates.

Explanation: Undecided citizens who plan to vote in upcoming elections tend to be swayed to dislike certain candidates by negative political attack ads. This is due to their lack of stance/knowledge on the candidate, thus making it easier to manipulate their perception.

How is india a secular democracy
elixir [45]
India is a secular democracy because the government treats all religions equally. In western countries secularism means isolation of faith from the government, but in India it's an acceptance and equal support of each faith from the government level.

Need help, it’s about child labor
zvonat [6]

Answer:

What is child labour

Not all work done by children should be classified as child labour that is to be targeted for elimination. The participation of children or adolescents above the minimum age for admission to employment in work that does not affect their health and personal development or interfere with their schooling, is generally regarded as being something positive. This includes activities such as assisting in a family business or earning pocket money outside school hours and during school holidays. These kinds of activities contribute to children’s development and to the welfare of their families; they provide them with skills and experience, and help to prepare them to be productive members of society during their adult life.

The term “child labour” is often defined as work that deprives children of their childhood, their potential and their dignity, and that is harmful to physical and mental development. It refers to work that:

is mentally, physically, socially or morally dangerous and harmful to children; and/or

interferes with their schooling by: depriving them of the opportunity to attend school; obliging them to leave school prematurely; or requiring them to attempt to combine school attendance with excessively long and heavy work.

Whether or not particular forms of “work” can be called “child labour” depends on the child’s age, the type and hours of work performed, the conditions under which it is performed and the objectives pursued by individual countries. The answer varies from country to country, as well as among sectors within countries.

The worst forms of child labour

The worst forms of child labour involves children being enslaved, separated from their families, exposed to serious hazards and illnesses and/or left to fend for themselves on the streets of large cities – often at a very early age.
