Wolves look like dogs, but they sometimes kill other animals. Two million gray wolves once lived in the United States. In the 19

00s, they began dying out. The wolves often killed farm animals. Leaders let farmers hunt wolves. By 1974, gray wolves were nearly gone. Some scientists started raising gray wolves. In the 1990s, they let some of the wolves go. The wolves did well. Now, they want to let more go. Yet farmers say that this should not be done. They say that the wolves will kill too many farm animals.

Who are the different people involved in the scenario? What dilemma or challenge are they facing in the story missing out?
Nina [5.8K]

Answer:

The trolley problem is a series of thought experiments in ethics and psychology, involving stylized ethical dilemmas of whether to sacrifice one person to save a larger number. Opinions on the ethics of each scenario turn out to be sensitive to details of the story that may seem immaterial to the abstract dilemma. The question of formulating a general principle that can account for the differing moral intuitions in the different variants of the story was dubbed the "trolley problem" in a 1976 philosophy paper by Judith Jarvis Thomson.

ad-work [718]

The phrase “his castle of a mule” is an example of a metaphor. In the excerpt, this was used to directly describe the stature of the mule. Given the context, the mule was possibly strong, as in the next sentence it spoke of how he was able to escape quickly.
