Answer:

The theme of the story "The Wretched and the Beautiful" is about human rights and the differences that we see in ourselves.

Explanation:

When the humans see the "wretched" aliens, they are repulsed by their looks.  When the humans see the "beautiful" aliens, they see everything good that they wished that they could be. This can also be seen with racism. Everyone ignored what was happening when the beautiful aliens took the wretched ones. all but one person was willing to hand the wretched aliens over but, she wasn't heard. The same can be true with racism today. Many people pretend that racism doesn't happen. Some people also try to help the oppressed but it takes a bigger group to make a difference.

How does the structure of this Italian sonnet by Petrarch support its theme?
seropon [69]
In my opinion, the correct answer is D. <span>The octave builds an idea about love, while the sestet comments on that idea. This is a typical structure of a Petrarchan sonnet, where the octave presents a problem, and the sestet resolves it. In this particular case, the octave is about love that the poet feels for his beloved. We only suspect that something isn't right, and only in the last line of the octave we see that the beloved has probably died: "</span><span>Are now but dust, poor dust, that nothing knows." The sestet talks about this love in contrast with the way it did in the octave; it talks about the speaker's grief and the impossibility to live a meaningful life without her.</span>

Find two examples of Sound Devices in the poem "David's Old Soul." Thanks.
Westkost [7]

Answer: The figurative language here ( ‘A tree my baby brothers could lean on’ and ‘the raft that helps carry them over this life’s rough rivers’) Tells me that the writer of this poem is needed to be a ‘breadwinner’ for the family. This can be enforced by the fact that the poem states the family only consists of ‘Mom and us kids’, The author is now tasked with duties such as caring for his baby brothers once his mother is no longer able to. Families without 2 parental figures is normally very straining to the kids and the single parent, only the strongest can withstand the onslaught of caring for kids. Thus letting me know that the meaning of this poem is that family needs to be there for each other because no one else would.
