This is shown right at the beginning of the text, where the author states that the Americans fought for freedom when they realized that ingrlaterra established an abusive relationship with the colonies. A second change that we can see in the text is related to the US military power. Currently, we know that the USA is a great military power, but the author shows us that this was already very different and that the USA was already a very weak country militarily.
