Dear sir or madam,
I am writing to inform you about the programmes that I have to choose for national television, and their schedule.
The first programme that I choose is called Environment heroes. It is a programme for kids between the ages of 6 to 13 years old. It aims to educate them on environmental issues and what they can do to take care of our planet. The ideal programme's airing would be at 16:00 on weekdays since the kids are not in school and it is usually a time that they spend doing leisure activities.
The next programme that I consider to be suitable for national television is Time to talk. It is a debate programme with different topics every week. Specialists in different areas and with contrasting points of view are invited to the studio to discuss controversial issues that affect us. They would inform the audience about problems, such as inequality for females regarding salaries, discrimination, economic crisis, changes in education, amongst other topics. As it is a programme that talks about controversial themes that might not be suitable for children, it should be aired at 11:00 pm on weekdays.
I hope that the programmes could be aired and on those timetables. They would have a considerable impact on our audience and our society.
Yours faithfully.
Mark Jhonson.
Explanation:
When we write a formal letter, we should use a formal style, with no contractions or too friendly words. In the first paragraph, we introduce the topic. Then we proceed to talk in detail about it in the next paragraphs. In the last section of the letter, we write a closing paragraph where we cordially thank or ask the reader for something. Finally, we use a closing phrase, in this case, yours faithfully, and our signature.
The second sentence is the one with the bias.
We can reach this answer because:
- Bias is a claim where the author is in favor of a statement that has no proof.
- In the text, the author states that people when frightened do not act correctly.
- The author generalizes people and shows no evidence of this claim.
- The author also does not show that there are people who can control their fears, which makes the statement generalized.
This statement is presented in the second sentence, which allows us to declare that this sentence is biased, as it is generalized, without evidence, and presents only one strand of thought.

Most schools take breaks during this period, whilst business in offices slows and schedules are rearranged according to the whims of the season. Around this time, the days are short and nights longer, this usually reverse slowly as the season progresses. The sun comes out very late on winter mornings and when it does is not hot.
People rarely come outdoors until daylight; most sit indoors by the fireside in the mornings and evenings. Everyone sees the essence of the weather report during winter, this service assumes added importance as the information they present can be the difference between having proper protective clothing and freezing to death, knowing if the roads would be navigate-able tomorrow morning, or if the night’s blizzard has called off engagements on their behalf.
Most people wake up to shovel snow out of their paths on winter mornings. On some particularly severe occasions, snow and strong winds has blocked roads and grounded flights, even frozen rivers for days, week and months.
