In Martin Luther King’s letter from Birmingham jail, there is a paragraph in the letter that states: “Over and over again I have

found myself asking: “Who worships here? Who is their god? Where were their voices when the lips of Governor Barnett dripped with words of interposition and nullification? Where were their voices of support when tired, bruised, and weary Negro men and women decided to rise from the dark dungeons of complacency to the bright hills of creative protest?” (He is talking about churches) What does King mean when he asks “Who is their god?”

What were the policy differences between Britain's Navigation Acts (mid-1600s) and the various acts passed after 1763?
aleksley [76]

The Townshend Acts, which taxed colonial imports of glass, lead, paint, paper and tea, was one of the most hated laws. The difference in the Townshend Act and navigation act is that the Townshend Act was implemented strictly to use the tax revenues to pay royal governor salaries in the colonies. The Salaries were initially paid by colonial assemblies, which gave an advantage to governors. John Adams thought this would make the royal governor separate from the people. The people, as well as judges and sheriffs, had elected the Coercive Acts passed in 1774, which gave the royal governor the authority to appoint the colony legislative counsel, nut up to that point.

Question 18 (3 points)
Leno4ka [110]

Answer:

I'm pretty sure it's: Getting the States to supply the army with uniforms, weapons, ammunition, food, and soldiers.

Explanation:

During the Revolutionary War, the states had a hard time getting enough soldiers to fight, as they would originally make their soldier's service time a minimum of 1 year. They also weren't as powerful as Britain, and they did have the resources to fight because Britain had the strongest military might, while the colonial army was filled with men who had no military experience.

soldi70 [24.7K]

When a plant has been without water for a long time, the central vacuoles lose water, the cells lose shape, and the whole leaf wilts. Plants often store sugars, ions, some proteins and occasionally pigments inside the vacuole.
