According to the petition from the freedmen to president andrew johnson, how was the planter class endangering freedom?
Flura [38]
Most of the freedmen became sharecroppers of the landowners. Although they were promised wages, the freedmen ended up with more debts than they could pay. This economic opportunity turned out to be another form of servitude. The sharecroppers had to live on credit from the landowners until they were able to sell their cotton. Oftentimes they still owed the landowners because the latter charged high prices and interest which they collected out of the crop earnings at the end of the season. More often than not, this left the sharecropper with very minimal or no profit at all and they had to work off this debt the next season.

The movie "American History" can be compared with the current reality of America, through the structural racism of society.

What is the synopsis of the movie "American History"?

The 1988 film is a crime drama that portrays the story of a teenager influenced by his older brother's racist ideals. Throughout the story, the main character's brother goes to prison and remembers the experiences that led him to racism, leading to a moral reflection of the spectators, about the importance of equity in society.

Through the film we can make a comparison with real life through cases of violence and discrimination against blacks in society, who even with the achievement of legal rights still suffer from lower wages compared to whites, unequal treatment and fewer opportunities for development.

Therefore, the film leads to a positive reflection on how violence and racial prejudice are harmful to society, with the struggle for equality being essential for building a more just and developed society.

Why might Napoleon have chosen to ally with states
instead of taking them over?
Artemon [7]
By selling Louisiana to the U.S. in 1803, Napoleon obviated the need to defend it against the British, and he may have hoped that the need of the U.S. to defend the territory (against the British) might have brought America back to its alliance with France.

Hope this helps
