What are the levels of the state court system? Which are trial courts and which are appellate?

Answer:

There are four levels of the states court system which are (from lowest to highest):

a. Minor Trial Court (TRIAL COURT) - These include courts like Municipal courts. They handle easy cases and minor violations such as speeding tickets.

b. Major Trial Courts (TRIAL COURT) - These handle more serious cases such as felonies, murder and other crimes that involve the state's Constitution.

c. Intermediate Appellate courts (APPELLATE COURT) - These are also called Courts of Appeal. They review the judgement of the lower courts to ensure that due process was followed.

d. State Supreme Court (APPELLATE COURT) - These are the highest courts at the state level. They review cases from the Court of Appeal to decide if they go against the Constitution of the state.
