However, the source of water in thento water table is definitely from surface water but as it percolates into the ground, if it is a porous rocky or gravelly surface it should show up as perhaps a ssimilar amount of water, but if it goes through soil with more silt and clay and with tree roots, then some of it will get absorbed.
