The point (−3, 0) is on the x axis.

I know because the point show us that

X=-3 and y=0

That means that the point that we will graph is on the -3 of the x axis. We don’t have to worry about the y because it’s equal to 0.

On the x-axis

since y=0
you know that the point didn’t go up or down, so it is on the x-axis

A consumer affairs investigator records the repair cost for 44 randomly selected TVs. A sample mean of $54.41$ 54.41 and standar
anzhelika [568]

Answer:

($47.245; $61.575)

Step-by-step explanation:

Mean sample repair cost (X) = $54.41

Standard deviation (s) = $28.89

Sample size (n) =44

Z-score for a 90% confidence interval (z) = 1.645

The confidence interval, assuming a normal distribution, is given by:

X \pm z\frac{s}{\sqrt{n}}

Applying the given data, the lower (L) and upper (U) bounds of the interval are:

L=54.41-1.645*\frac{28.89}{\sqrt{44}} \\L=\$47.245\\U=54.41+1.645*\frac{28.89}{\sqrt{44}} \\U=\$61.575

The confidence interval is I = ($47.245; $61.575)

Nataly_w [17]

Answer:

50.24

Step-by-step explanation:

area of a circle =pi r^2

diameter = 2 * radius

radius=8/2=4

area=pi 4^2

=pi 16

What is -2 1/4x+3 7/12x-4 2/3 simplified
lesya [120]

Answer:

  (4x -14)/3

Step-by-step explanation:

Assuming you intend mixed number coefficients, only the coefficients of x can be combined.

  (-2 1/4)x +(3 7/12)x -(4 2/3) = x(-2 1/4 +3 7/12) -(4 2/3)

The mixed numbers are added in the usual way.

  (-2 1/4) +(3 7/12) = (-2 +3) +(-1/4 +7/12) = 1 +(-3/12 +7/12) = 1 4/12 = 1 1/3

So the expression simplifies to ...

  (1 1/3)x -(4 2/3)

This might be better written as ...

  (4x -14)/3

_____

<em>Comment on mixed numbers</em>

It is hard to write mixed numbers so they can be properly interpreted in an algebraic expression. In general, they are better written as improper fractions or as decimal numbers (if the decimal terminates).
