If I were Thomas Jefferson I would make the deal to buy the Louisiana Territory. With the Louisiana Purchase, the U.S. acquired nearly 827,000 square miles of French-held land for just four cents an acre. How did the Church play a vital role in medieval life?
My name is Ann [436]
The role of the Church, more specifically the Catholic Church, in medieval life was major because the main religion during this time in Europe was Christianity. While Judaism and Islam were also present, they were minor religions at the time. It had great power because it had its own laws and taxes and could even control the kings of a certain kingdom.

Opposing the church for example could result in heresy and was considered a heavy crime, punishable by burning at the stake.
