Gorgons was the name given to the group of sisters formed by Esteno, Euríale and Medusa. They were cursed by the goddess Athena to transform into monstrous, horrendous creatures, with hair turned into snakes and the look that petrified anyone who came in front of them. The sisters lost their beauty and became monsters just as Athena wanted. However, Medusa remained beautiful and had an affair with Poseidon. This was an act of boldness for Athena who cursed her again, this time, leaving her mortal, unlike the other sisters. In this way Medusa's head could be cut, as it was, but the heads of her sisters could never be cut.

-September 1821. Mexican army captures the important port of Veracruz and Agustin de Iturbide successfully captures Mexico City. Mexico's army officially hs defeated the Spanish Army.
