During this time many explorers were driven by 3 things, “God, Gold, and Glory”. Firstly the Spanish were driven there in order to expand that of Christianity. They wanted to convert the indigenous people from there original religion. Next, they went there for the intriguing thought of gold. They wanted to be rich. What better way to get rich than gold through the help of trade. Next of glory, glory came from expanding their territory. The more land a country had the more powerful they would be.
The Japanese invaded & seized the Philippines Islands which was a US Territory during the war, that is now an independent nation.
