Answer:

  • Lets conside the order of magnitude
  • We have a different of 8.0- 6.0=2.0
  • An 8 magnitude has 63.09 ×10^15 joules
  • A 6 magnitude has 63.09×10^12 J
  • Which is 1000 times more energy

In order to simplify an expression you have to have the same variables, to the same power.

1a) There are no more H's or numbers without a variable.

1b) The variables do not match.

1c) The variable is to a different power so it can't be simplified.

So to simplify you combine your "like terms"

2a,b, and c are correct :)

2d) already simplified

2e) since the variables are the same, just focus on the numbers (x=h since it won't let me use it) answer: 6x
10x - 4x \\ 10 - 4 = 6 \\ 6x
2g) For this one 9 has no variable and no like terms, so it stays by itself, just focus on the a's (x=a) answer: 9+4x
9 + 7x - 3x \\ 7 - 3 = 4 \\ 9 + 4x
2j) answer: 11y^2+5y
8y + 6y {}^{2}  - 3y + 5y {}^{2}  \\ 8y - 3y = 5y \\ 6y {}^{2}  { + 5y} {}^{2}  = 11y {}^{2}  \\ 11y {}^{2} + 5y

Hitman42 [59]

Question:

At noon a tank contains 6 cm of water after several hours it contains 3 cm of water what is the percent decrease of water in the tank

Answer:

The percent Decrease of water in the tank  is 50%

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Initial amount of water in the tank at the noon = 6 cm

amount of water remained in water after several hours = 3 cm

To Find:

The percent decrease =?

Solution:

The percent decrease in the tank

=>\frac{\text {water present after some hours }}{\text {initial water contained in the tank }} \times 100

Substituting the values

=>\frac{3}{6} \times 100

=>\frac{1}{2} \times 100

=>\frac{100}{2}

=> 50

What is the surface area of the right rectangular prism?
scoundrel [369]
<h3>Answer:  Choice A) 252 in^2</h3>

=======================================================

Explanation:

Refer to the diagram below.

The red rectangle is 6 inches by 12 inches, so its area is 6*12 = 72 square inches. There are two of these rectangles (one on top, one on the bottom). That accounts for 2*72 = 144 square inches so far.

The purple rectangles are 3 inches by 12 inches, yielding an area of 3*12 = 36 square inches each. That's another 2*36 = 72 square inches when we account for the front and back purple rectangles.

The green rectangles are 6 inches by 3 inches. Each green rectangle is 6*3 = 18 square inches. Having two of them means we'll add on 2*18 = 36 square inches.

Overall, the entire surface area is the sum of all the areas we calculated: 144+72+36 = 252 square inches, which is choice A

-------------------------

Alternative Method:

  • L = 12 = length
  • W = 6 = width
  • H = 3 = height

SA = surface area of the rectangular prism

SA = 2*(L*W + L*H + W*H)

SA = 2*(12*6 + 12*3 + 6*3)

SA = 2*(72 + 36 + 18)

SA = 2*(126)

SA = 252 in^2

So we get the same answer either way

Find the missing measures for the rectangle. l = _?_ w = 4.2 m A = 37.8 m2 P = _?_ A) 9 m; 26.4 m B) 14.7 m; 61.74 m C) 9 m; 13.
egoroff_w [7]

Answer:

The correct answer is A.

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of a rectangle can be calculated using the following formula:

Ar=W . I

If we know that the area measures 37.8 m^{2} and one side of the figure measures 4.2 m, we can say that:

37.8m^{2}=4.2m. I

We isolate the side we don't know:

\frac{37.8m^{2}}{4.2m} = I\\9 m = I

So I = 9 m

To know the perimter of a rectangle, we use the following formula:

P= I. 2 + W . 2

P= 9m. 2 + 4.2m. 2

P= 26.4 m
