While it might have seemed like a good idea for Sultan Singh to start an egg business, the population of India is largely vegetarian due to religious reasons and does not eat eggs so the business failed.

Explanation:

Hot and Cold foods are described locally and known intuitively by many people who follow the Hindu religion. Eating habits are based on the demarcation.

Cold foods are not eaten after sunset as they induce cold and fever it is believed. These include curd, fruits and even rice which is served hot.

Any other type of staple food is believed to be hot and can be eaten throughout the day.

The Singh business did not run because of the strict eating habits of Hindu of which the above is a great example. These habits include not eating non vegetarian food on certain days for even the people who do. Thus a non vegetarian business finds it hard to function in a Hindu majority region.

If you were a teacher, which do you prefer ancient chinese education or ancient greece education? Why?
Ivanshal [37]

Explanation:

Education in Ancient China

Imagine jumping into a time machine and ending up in ancient China. You find yourself in the middle of a class full of boys who are learning to shoot with bows and arrows. Today, all boys and girls have to go to school but in ancient China, girls weren't allowed to go at all. And they definitely didn't get to learn cool things like archery!

Boys

In the beginning, only older boys in ancient China were allowed to go to school, but not all older boys. Boys from rich, important families got an education, but boys from poor families didn't. Even young boys from rich families stayed home with their mothers until they were old enough for school.

When they were young, boys learned their numbers and directions like north, south, east, and west. They also learned to respect and obey adults.

When they got older, wealthy boys learned from a master, which is like your teacher today. They needed to learn important things to prepare them for taking part in things like government, religion, and war.

Just like you, the older boys who got to go to school learned about math, reading, and writing. But they also learned about important ceremonies in their culture, music, and how to drive a two-wheeled vehicle pulled by horses called a chariot.

Boys in ancient China learned special dances and how to have respectful conversations, too. But they couldn't just pick up a piece of paper and pencil to take notes the way you do in class. They had to write on sticks made of wood and bamboo scrolls joined together.

2. Identify the type of irony found in act IV scene 1 of Romeo and Juliet when Paris meets Juliet at friar Lawrences cell and sa
alisha [4.7K]

2. verbal irony

Verbal irony is when a person says something but means the opposite. In this scene Juliet says "I love him" but she is not referring to Paris. She's answering Paris' question about confessing her love for Paris to Friar Laurence. However, she actually is saying that she loves Friar Laurence to get out of lying about her love for Paris. It's not a romantic love of course since she's married to Romeo, whom she also loves.

3. False

Shakespeare uses comedy in many of his plays. The nurse and Mercutio both offer some comedic relief in this Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet.

4. C. Personification

Personification is giving non human things human-like traits. In this scene, Juliet says, "the tears have got small Victory". This personifies the tears as having the human trait of being victorious.

5. A. Simile

A simile is a comparison between two things using like or as. In this line, Juliet's appearance after taking the potion is compared to death.

6. B. He is in exile in Mantua.

Romeo has left for Mantua during Act IV. Juliet's desperate actions during the Act are because of her father's insistence that she marry Paris immediately.

7. A. Failure

Sullen has a negative connotation. The only answer choice with a negative connotation is failure.

8. A funeral song

A dirge is a funeral song, or at least one that is extremely sad.
