Is -(3x + 5)^2 a perfect trinomial? Why or why not?
attashe74 [19]

The given equation-(3x + 5)^2 is not a perfect trinomial because it is not obtained through the multiplication of a binomial.

What is a perfect trinomial?

A perfect square trinomial is takes the algebraic expression form ax^2 +bx + c, where the square root of the first term and the third term is the equation to the second term.

Given that:

-(3x + 5)^2

Open brackets

= - (9x +30x + 55)

Multiply through by (-)

= -9x^2 - 30x - 55

Therefore, we can conclude that the given equation-(3x + 5)^2 is not a perfect trinomial because it is not obtained through the multiplication of a binomial. i.e. the multiplication of the square root of the first and the third term did not result in the 2nd term.

Find the amount after one year on $1,000 invested at 6% per year if interest is simple interest
Olenka [21]

Answer:

The amount after 1 year is $ 1060 .

Step-by-step explanation:

The amount after 1 year on $1,000 invested at 6% per year on simple interest

is given by,

$ 1000 \times (1 + \frac{6}{100})

= $ (1000 + 60)

= $ 1060

We know that, if,

Principal = P unit

Rate of annual simple interest = R%

Time = T year

then, amount, A = (P \times( 1 + \frac {R \times T}{100})) unit

An architectural drawing lists the scale as 1/4" = 1'. if a bedroom measures 312312" by 514514" on the drawing, how large is the
iren [92.7K]
The given data of 1/4"=1' is a fixed ratio to be used to find the scale factor of the true measurement of the room. The given measurements are only on the drawing scale. To know the actual area of the room, find first the equivalent length and width. Then, you multiply them to obtain the area.

Through ratio and proportion:

1/4"/1' = 312312"/length
length = 1249248'

1/4"/1' = 514514"/width
width = 2058056'

Thus, the actual area of the bedroom is

A = length×width
A = (1249248')(2058056')
A = 2.57×10¹² square feet
