When and why was the finger known as "the ring finger" called that?
Anna35 [415]

Before medical science discovered how the circulatory system functioned, people believed that a vein ran directly from the fourth finger on the left hand to the heart. Because of the hand–heart connection, they chose the descriptive name vena amoris, Latin for the vein of love, for this particular vein.

What is a benefit of a confederate government?
olga nikolaevna [1]
A benefit of a confederate government is C. Several states can cooperate in matters of common concern and still retain their separate identities.

A confederate government derives its power from the state or provincial government resulting to a weak central authority. States under the confederation retain all the powers of an independent nation; powers such as the right to have its own military force, the right to print money, and the right to make treaties with other national powers without needing the approval of other states under the confederation.

Confederate states exerting their own powers weakened the central government which led to the founding fathers to shift into Federalism when they drafted the Constitution.

Why did the Greeks have rituals and festivals for their gods and goddesses ???? Please quickkkkk
astraxan [27]

Answer:

The Greeks had rituals and festivals for gods and goddesses to worship them, if they did not do this the gods would be angry and give them a punishment for what they have done. For example, one king forgot to give Artemis her share of a sacrifice and she sent the Calydonian boar to terrorize the city.
