  • Filgrastim is a bone marrow stimulant that is a recombinant form of DNA and acts as the granulocyte-colony stimulating factor and hence, stimulates the bone marrow to produce neutrophils.
  • Therefore, when the client is diagnosed with neutropenia that is low neutrophil count it is necessary to increase the neutrophil count and for this purpose filgrastim is prescribed.
