It’s because we as humans find entertainment in other things, or perhaps in other situations we just don’t want to do the work because it’s tiring.
In stanza 3 of the poem, the boy shows that he is both <em>brave and patient</em>. He demonstrates bravery by taking his vorpal sword in hand to hunt the creature. However, he also shows that he is patient by resting and standing a while in thought.
At first glance, the passage seems like an appeal to ethos because of the name dropping. However, if one looks at the question that follows the statement, you can clearly see that it is an appeal to logos. As it persuades the audience to use their logic to come up with the answer to the question.
