Of these events in “Top if the Food Chain,” which happens first?
arsen [322]

The correct answer is:

B. A species of wasp that eats caterpillars is killed off.

Explanation:

Top of the Food Chain by T.C. Boyle is a story about human mistakes, written in a satirical tone to excuse the mistakes made.

Top of the Food Chain contains a series of events that happened after spraying an unsafe chemical called DDT to get rid of mosquitoes in Borneo. After the spray got rid of the mosquitoes it also killed a wasp that used to get rid off the caterpillars, the excess of caterpillars then caused the roofs to collapse, and they replaced it with tin. Then they ended with the flies, and the geckos ate them so they died and the cats ate the geckos, and got infected, and the people in the town were devastated because the cats were their pets, with the cats gone the rats went out of control and they flew cats from Australia to control the rat population and to keep the people happy.

Do the main characters in The Joy Luck Club accurately reflect Chua’s beliefs about ""generational decline"" in the children of
Pachacha [2.7K]

Answer:

The characters reflect these beliefs by trying to defend their own cultural identities, without trying to understand each other's identities.

Explanation:

In "The Joy Luck Club" we get to see the concept of "generational decline" when daughters refuse to participate and to understand the cultural heritage that their Chinese mothers try to subject them to. The daughters see the Chinese cultural heritage as a way of meddling in their lives and as a way of trying to misrepresent their identity as Americans. On the other hand, mothers have a Chinese cultural identity and believe that regulating that identity is disrespectful, since daughters are part of that identity as well.

help me!!! I want to make a mystery story!!!! the first sentence of the story must be "a girl was walking home one day"
FrozenT [24]

Explanation:

She was standing in the hallway. From where I was standing I could only see her hair. She had hair as black as coal with a stroke of pink on some of the middle strands. And then she turned. Her face was fair and her cheeks a little fluffy. But she was slim.

When I saw her, my heart skipped a beat or two. I had never laid my eyes on someone so beautiful. It was like a dream. I couldn't move. I couldn't blink. I just started at her angelic face.

What was just a few seconds felt like an eternity. It felt as if there were only the two of us and no one else. The crowd of people standing there seemed to disappear.

Suddenly she went forward and went ahead. I snapped back to reality. I ran towards her but soon she disappeared into the crowd
