Read the following excerpt from an online op-ed article. Another reason that the proposed curfew in Johnstown is a bad idea is t

hat curfews simply don't work – they are nearly impossible to enforce. The city council can make all the rules it wants, but if no one is going to hold people to them, the rules are meaningless. We all know that the Johnstown Police Department is understaffed as it is, as evidenced by a drastic increase in recent crime rates. Do you really think they're going to turn the necessary attention to a town curfew when there are actual crimes to solve and incidents to respond to? In a candid interview in yesterday's Johnstown Daily Bee, candidate Les Brown revealed that enforcing a curfew would be very low on his list of priorities. The bottom line is that a curfew, like any law, would be meaningless if it were not enforced. Let's forget about the curfew and turn our time and money to more practical and pressing matters affecting our town Which of the following would be a good place for the writer of the op-ed to link to additional information on the Internet? O A. A curfew, like any law, would be meaningless if it were not enforced B. The rules are meaningless. C. Let's forget about the curfew. D. As evidenced by a drastic increase in recent crime rates

Answer:

The law of having a curfew would be meaningless if it were not enforced. Curfews can provide peace of mind for their family members, and these laws can help work to prevent more human trafficking and exploitation of children. This can be a false sense of security to think that only crime happens during the night. A lot of crime happens during the middle of the day. If you are going to have the law, then you must go through with the legal consequences of violating it. Minority teens are impacted because the teenage curfew laws can create conflict with the police and with parents.

Explanation:

If a community decides to have a curfew, then demographic info should be included. Some kids have to take care of themselves and putting a curfew on them can restrict them from getting what they need.

Answer:

By quickening the pace of the story.

Explanation:

Washington Irving's short story "The Adventure of The Mysterious Picture" is a part of the collection of short stories compiled in the book "Tales of A Traveler, By Geoffrey Crayon, Gent". This book consists of four parts, of which this story of the mysterious picture is from "Part I: Strange Stories By A Nervous Gentleman".

The story is about a traveler, our narrator who had been invited to be a part of a group of other men to stay at a mansion owned by one of their friends. There, the discussion about ghosts and haunted places led to the host of the house to declare that one of the rooms is indeed haunted. But without revealing which room it was, he said it will all be revealed in the morning, when they can see who the "her" of the night will be. The room that the narrator got had a picture that seems to be with some supernatural effects for he feels uncomfortable and even begins to think that it is this room that was mentioned. During the night, the narrator couldn't sleep so he went downstairs and slept on the sofa. This particular passage given in the question is from that scene where he had gone to sleep on the sofa. Irving quickens the pace of the story to build or provide more suspense.

Nimfa-mama [501]

A vague pronoun is a pronoun whose antecedent is not clearly stated. Besides, it can lead to a misunderstanding. In this particular sentence, the personal pronoun “it” has not clear antecedent (it can be “car” or “wal”). As a result, the sentence can convey these two possible meaning:

1) The car backed into the wall but the car did not break the wall

2) The car backed into the wall but the car itself was not damages.
