Answer:

They handled some of the manual labor on their fiefs.

Explanation:

The nobility was constituted mainly by the owners of the lands. Within the nobility there were different ranks.

The most important were the magnates (marquises, counts and dukes). They were the owners of the great extinctions of lands.

A second rank are the nobles (viscounts, barons, ...) mastered extensions of smaller lands.

A third rank was formed by the knights. These, only had a horse and a harness (weapons, armor ...). The knights lived in a noble of superior rank and constituted the personal guard.

The nobles lived in the castle and their main occupation was hunting. Often, they waged wars against other nobles or trained in violent tournaments. Medieval castles were limited to a tower surrounded by a wall.

What is the difference between the checks and balances system and the separation of powers system
GaryK [48]

Answer:

Let´s try to put it simple. The separation of powers system establishes the competencies, the actions, the prerrogatives, the domains where each branch of government can exercise their powers, different from those of other branches. For example, taxes are set by Congress, and the presidency´s job is to collect them. Interpretation of laws corresponds to the judiciary, not to the president nor Congress.

On the other hand, checks and balances create counterweights to a possible abuse of power by one branch, giving branches of government legal instruments to check, to restrain the actions of another branch. For example: the US administration negotiates and sign foreign treaties, but the Senate must ratify them. Sometimes, it has refused to approve a treaty as when the Senate did not ratify the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 as requested by president Woodrow Wilson.

B. They promote policies that support their beliefs.

Special interest groups in politics are also known as "advocacy groups" or "lobbying groups." They have a particular area of interest or policies that they'd like to see in place in the government. So they will spend a lot of money and effort seeking to convince those in government to adopt policies that are aligned with the interests or priorities of the interest group. The National Rifle Association (NRA) would be an example of a powerful lobbying group of this sort. So also would be Greenpeace, which is an environmental interest group. There are many interest groups supporting many different causes or concerns.
