Which pair of angle measures satisfy the condition sin J = cos K? A. 15°, 40° B. 45°, 90° C. 60°, 30° D. 80°, 100° E. 70°, 110°
vaieri [72.5K]
Sin J = cos K
sin J = cos (90 - J)
K = 90 - J

sin 60 = cos (90 - 60) = cos 30

Therefore, 60°, 30° satisfy the condition sin J = cos K.

A square is removed from the right hand corner of a square board. What is the area of the remaining board in square feet?
Mama L [17]

Answer:

The area of the remaining board in square feet is:

                             108 square feet.

Step-by-step explanation:

The remaining area of board=

Area of the whole board-Area of square which is removed.

i.e.

Area of remaining board= Area of square of side length 12 feet-Area of square with side length 6 feet.

We know that the area of square with side length s units is given by: s² square units

Hence, we get:

Area of remaining board= (12)²-(6)²

i.e.

Area of remaining board= 144-36

i.e.

Area of remaining board= 108 square feet.

A circular cloth with a diameter of 20 inches is placed on a circular tray with a diameter of 24 inches. What fraction of the tr
son4ous [18]

Answer:

the fraction of surface that is not covered is 11/36

Step-by-step explanation:

To do this we first have to calculate the two surfaces

s = π * r^2

π = 3.14

r = d/2

d1 = 20

d2 = 24

r1 = 20/2

r1 = 10

r2 = 24/2

r2 = 12

s1 = π * r1^2

s1 = 3.14 * 10^2

s1 = 3.14 * 100

s1 = 314

s2 = π * r2^2

s2 = 3.14 * 12^2

s2 = 3.14 * 144

s2 = 452.16

to know the part that is not covered we simply do the s1 over the s2 and we subtract that from 1

s1 / s2 =

314 / 452.16 =

25/36

1 we subtract this

1 - 25/36 = 11/36

the fraction of surface that is not covered is 11/36
