Answer: 57 packages.

Step-by-step explanation:                                                                                               Just do 678 divided by 12 on a piece of paper or your calculator (or your head). The answer will be 57. You may ask, why? The answer is actually 56.5. Don't let B fool you. Since 56.5 is more than 56, B is wrong. However,  you can take the remaining masks and store them in the 57th package. So C is correct.

Prove algebraically that the difference between the squares of any two consecutive integers is equal to the sum of these two int
daser333 [38]
Let any integer be represented by x.
Then, the consecutive integer (the number that follows) should be x+1.

The statement wants us to prove;

(x+1)²-x²=x+(x+1) <-- solve left hand side

x²+x+x+1²-x²
2x+1 (solution for left hand side)

Now solve for right hand side.

x+(x+1)= 2x+1

As noticed, the LHS=RHS (left hand side= right hand side), therefore, the difference of squared consecutive numbers subtracted is equal to the sum of the two integers.

Hope I helped :)

Answer:

A) 15 cm B) 1292 cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

A) height can be used by using Pythagoras theorem

Height^2+base^2=slant^2

height^2+8^2=17^2

height=15 cm

B) The amount of cardboard used can be found by calculating the area

Area=2*(area of triangle) + 3*(area of rectangles)

17*16+3*(20*17)=1292 cm^2
