What was a root cause of the Containment Policy?

History
1 answer:
schepotkina [342]4 years ago

The Containment Policy was a policy that the United States Government supported in an effort to counter the Soviet Union and its influence around the globe during the Cold war. The policy of containment was put into place due to ideological differences, a power struggle, and a general fear of Soviet expansion into other parts of the war. The U.S. wars in Korea and Vietnam are exemplary of the United State's efforts to instill the "Containment Policy" in Asia to contain the Soviet Union and also the spread of communism.

Mr. Thomas Malthus was an england eruditus member of Real Society.

His thesis about food supply and population control was that the population multiplies geometrically and the food arithmetically and whenever the food supply increases the population will rapidly growth to eliminate the abundancy.

Very interesting that point of view. It is a good thesis to discuss nowadays.

V125BC [204]
The first recorded appearance of the plague in Europe was at Messina, Sicily in October of 1347. It arrived on trading ships that very likely came from the Black Sea, past Constantinople and through the Mediterranean. While Sicily was succumbing to the horrors of the disease, the expelled trading ships brought it to other areas around the Mediterranean, infecting the neighboring islands of Corsica and Sardinia by November.

How has the number of christians in bethlehem changed in recent years?
Greeley [361]
"O Little Town of Bethehem" is a familiar Christmas hymn about the birth of Jesus Christ. But the number of Christians in Bethlehem itself has been getting littler and littler as the Christian community there and elsewhere in the Middle East and North Africa has faced pressures from Islamist movements.

In 1950, about 85% of Bethlehem's residents were Christian. By 2016, the Christian presence in Bethlehem had dropped to 12% -- or only about 11,000 persons.
