A <em>tought shot</em> is used to create meaning in a writing, by <em>allowing the reader to have a perception of the character's or author's p</em><em>erspective, feeling or thought about a situation</em>. It can be in the form of a question or a statement about something. In the excerpt the speaker's opinion is in the line <em>"I should prefer to have some boy bend them".</em>
