The question is incomplete. Here is the complete question.

A cell phone company is interested in the relationship between the number of texts per minute for their customers (y) and customer age. Based on the data collected, the least-squares regression line is y=3.27+2.14x, where x is the number of years by which age exceeds 12. Which of the following statements best describes the meaning of the slope of the least-squares regression line?

a. For each increase in age of 1 year, the estimated number of texts per minute increases by 3.27.

b. For each increase in age of 1 year, the estimated number of texts per minute increases by 2.14.

c. For each increase of one text per minute, there is an estimated increase in age of 3.27 years.

d. For each increase of one text per minute, there is an estimated increase in age of 2.14 years.

e. The slope has no meaning because the units of measure for x and y are not the same.

Answer: b. For each increase in age of 1 year, the estimated number of texts per minute increases by 2.14.

Step-by-step explanation: The <u>least-squares</u> <u>regression</u> is a method of fitness, i.e., it fits a data set of number into an equation.

In this case, the relationship between number of texts per minute and customer age is given by a line equation:

y=3.27+2.14x

in which, y represents the number of texts per minute and x is the age.

In a line equation, slope is the measure of steepness, i.e., how inclined the line is.

In the least squares regression line, slope is 2.14 and it means, in each additional year, the number of texts increase by a factor of 2.14, which is the correct alternative.

Answer:

3. A=B=70°; C=D=110°

4. A=90°; C=48°

Step-by-step explanation:

Same-side angles of a trapezoid add to 180°.

___

3. (2x) +(x+15) = 180

3x + 15 = 180 . . . . simplify

x +5 = 60 . . . . . . . divide by 3

x = 55

A=B=(x+15)° = (55+15)° = 70°

C=D=2x° = 2·55° = 110°

__

4. You are given the values of one of the angles on each side, so the other can be found by subtraction:

A=180°-D = 90°

C = 180° -132° = 48°

Given:

The equation is,

2\log _3x-\log _3(x-2)=2

Explanation:

Simplify the equation by using logarthimic property.

\begin{gathered} 2\log _3x-\log _3(x-2)=2 \\ \log _3x^2-\log _3(x-2)=2_{}\text{      \lbrack{}log(a)-log(b) = log(a/b)\rbrack} \\ \log _3\lbrack\frac{x^2}{x-2}\rbrack=2 \end{gathered}

Simplify further.

\begin{gathered} \log _3\lbrack\frac{x^2}{x-2}\rbrack=2 \\ \frac{x^2}{x-2}=3^2 \\ x^2=9(x-2) \\ x^2-9x+18=0 \end{gathered}

Solve the quadratic equation for x.

\begin{gathered} x^2-6x-3x+18=0 \\ x(x-6)-3(x-6)=0 \\ (x-6)(x-3)=0 \end{gathered}

From the above equation (x - 6) = 0 or (x - 3) = 0.

For (x - 6) = 0,

\begin{gathered} x-6=0 \\ x=6 \end{gathered}

For (x - 3) = 0,

\begin{gathered} x-3=0 \\ x=3 \end{gathered}

The values of x from solving the equations are x = 3 and x = 6.

Substitute the values of x in the equation to check answers are valid or not.

For x = 3,

\begin{gathered} 2\log _3(3^{})-\log _3(3-2)=2 \\ 2\log _33-\log _31=2 \\ 2\cdot1-0=2 \\ 2=2 \end{gathered}

Equation satisfy for x = 3. So x = 3 is valid value of x.

For x = 6,

\begin{gathered} 2\log _36-\log _3(6-2)=2 \\ 2\log _36-\log _34=2 \\ \log _3(6^2)-\log _34=2 \\ \log _3(\frac{36}{4})=2 \\ \log _39=2 \\ \log _3(3^2)=2 \\ 2\log _33=2 \\ 2=2 \end{gathered}

Equation satifies for x = 6.

Thus values of x for equation are x = 3 and x = 6.

Help me plz this is hard
cricket20 [7]

you first use distributive property for the multiplication

[(2*4x)-(2*11)]+9=19

8x-22+9=19

Then, you need to leave the variable alone moving all the other numbers with the opposite operation (addition to substraction, substraction to addition, multiplication to division, division to multiplication)

8x=19+22-9

8x=(19+22)-9

8x=41-9

8x=32

Then as 8 and x are multiplying you pass it dividing

x=32/8

x=4
