When you see the would 'of' it generally means to multiply.
what you're going to do is take the one from the fraction

Answer: The choice of paths in the woods is compared with choices in life. The less traveled road is the less conventional or popular path. The speaker is saying that he didn't just conform to what everybody else was doing. He opted for a way of life that was a little different from most, and that was a crucial life-choice for him.
