6 0

Answer:

A graph that goes through (4, 0), (8, -3), (0, 3), and (-4, 6)

Step-by-step explanation:

Hello!

To find what this looks like it is easier to put it into slope-intercept form which is y = mx + b

To get our equation to look like that we have to get y by itself

3x + 4y = 12

Subtract 3x from both sides

4y = -3x + 12

Divide both sides by 4

y =- \frac{3}{4}x  + 3

We now know the y-intercept is (0, 3)

Now we follow the slope to give us more points

More points are (4, 0), (8, -3), and (-4, 6)

The answer would be a graph that goes through those points.

Hope this helps!

Answer:

The dimensions are 4 millimetres by 10 millimetres

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of the first rectangle is 5*8=40 square millimetres. Let's call the width of they yellow rectangle w, and the length l. Now you can set up the following system of equations:

l*w=40

2l+2w=28

Isolate one of the variables to substitute:

l=40/w

2(40/w)+2w=28

80/w+2w=28

Multiply both sides by w:

80+2w^2=28w

Move everything to one side:

2w^2-28w+80=0

Factor the quadratic:

2(w^2-14w+40)=0

2(w-10)(w-4)=0

w=4 or 10

l= 10 or 4

Hope this helps!

Assume that the following confidence interval for the difference in the mean length of male (sample 1) and female babies (samp
Maksim231197 [3]

Answer:

c. There is no difference in the length between male and female babies

Step-by-step explanation:

Hello!

If I understood correctly, the interval [-0.2;1.7] was constructed to estimate the difference between the population mean of the length of male babies at birth(μ₁) and the population mean of the length of female babies at birth (μ₂).

Estimated parameter: μ₁-μ₂

To make a desition using an interval your hypothesis must be two-tailed,

H₀: μ₁-μ₂ = 0

H₁: μ₁-μ₂ ≠ 0

The level of significance should be complementary to the confidence level of the interval. (For example, if the interval was constructed at 1 - α: 0.9, the test should have a level of α: 0.10)

Remember the Confidence interval is an estimation of the real value of μ₁-μ₂, so, under the null hypothesis you can say that:

If the interval contains the 0, then you don't reject the null hypothesis.

If the interval doesn't contain the 0, you reject the null hypothesis.

So since 0 is contained in the confidence interval, you support the null hypothesis, in other words, there is enough information to say that there is no difference between the average length of male and female babies at birth.

I hope it helps!

A college faculty consists of 400 men and 250 women. The college administration wants to draw a sample of 65 faculty members to
galina1969 [7]

Answer:

The type of sample is Stratified sampling.

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the provided information.

Types of sampling.

  • Random sampling is similar to placing the name of everyone in a hat and pulling out a few names.
  • In Systematic sampling, we list of elements is counted off.
  • Convenience sampling: data which is readily available is used. That is, the first people are running into by the surveyor.
  • In Cluster sampling, we divide the population into groups, usually geographically.
  • In Stratified sampling we divide population into groups called strata. but this time population might be separated into males and females.

Here the population is divided into groups of males and females therefore it is stratified sampling.

Hence, the type of sample is Stratified sampling.
