b. The Monroe Doctrine expressed the idea that new countries should be allowed to develop without interference from stronger nat
SSSSS [86.1K]

(This would have to be in your own opinion, "develop without interference from stronger nations" or a conclusion/ reasoning from the stronger nations to develop.) (Do you think that they still follow this in the United States? Treaties signed during and after the World war 2 reflecting a policy of greater cooperation between North and south America colonies. The United states continued to use Monroe Doctrine to justify its interference in the affairs of its southern neighbors.)(do you think such a policy should be followed in the modern world? This is also your opinion so it's up to you but the policy was made to warn Europe that the United states would not tolerate further colonization. The latian American countries already won their independence from Spain and Portugal but they were worried that the powers of continental Europe would make future attempts to restore colonial regimes in the region.) And depending on your opinion you can find cities and evidence for it. I'm sorry if this is confusing but I hope it helps you understand a little more

identify three event that led to the civil war.Explain how each one was an important cause of the war.
Ksju [112]

States' Rights

The idea of states' rights was not new to the Civil War. Since the Constitution was first written there had been arguments about how much power the states should have versus how much power the federal government should have. The southern states felt that the federal government was taking away their rights and powers.

Slavery

At the heart of much of the South's issues was slavery. The South relied on slavery for labor to work the fields. Many people in the North believed that slavery was wrong and evil. These people were called abolitionists. They wanted slavery made illegal throughout the United States. Abolitionists such as John Brown, Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, and Harriet Beecher Stowe began to convince more and more people of the evil of slavery. This made the South fearful that their way of life would come to an end.

Secession

When Lincoln was elected, many of the southern states decided they no longer wanted to be a part of the United States. They felt that they had every right to leave. Starting with South Carolina, eleven states would eventually leave the United States and form a new country called the Confederate States of America. Abraham Lincoln said they did not have the right to leave the United States and sent in troops to stop the South from leaving. The Civil War had begun.
