Why was everyone panicking about the arrival of Himmler?

Answer:

Heinrich Himmler was a high-ranking Nazi who was in charge of planning and implementing the Holocaust.

Explanation:

In Spinelli´s story, Misha finds about him from Kuba who explains that Himmler is the “Number Two Jackboot” and responsible for their imprisonment. Enos claiming "We´re as good as dead" portrays the fear they felt over such a sinister figure going to visit them, which could lead to even more violence.
