At first Arturo does not want to go because he rather study then visit his grandpa in the dreadful old's folk home. When he first arrives he keeps checking his watch eager to leave. After Arturo listen's to his grandpa's life story he does not want to leave because he wants to learn more about his grandpa.
Based on my information, this would be known to be called (theme). By understanding the theme, this would totally help the reader to <span>to make sense of the information to which he/she is exposed mainly because sense they would know the theme, this would be able to fit (a) and (b) together for everything to make a lot more sense.
