zlopas [31]

Answer:

The increase in debt investments is  $2,850.63

Explanation:

The company would increase its debt investment by the  difference between the interest revenue and the coupon payment made by Scott Company.

The interest revenue is calculated by multiplying the semi-annual effective yield by the carrying value of the investments which is $1,506,375.

The face value of the bond of $1600,000 is multiplied by the semi-annual coupon rate

Increase in investment=($1506375*11%/2)-($1,600,000*10%/2)=$2,850.63

Tom [10]

Answer: Contingency planning

Explanation: In simple words, it refers to the planning under which an organisation plans to cope with a situation that may or may not happen in the near future. The situation for which planning is done relates to a significant event that highly impacts the organisation.

In the given case, Stars and stripes are planning to face the problem of low sales even though they are performing well in the market for the present time.

Hence from the above we can conclude that the correct option is B.

Think about drawing a random sample only from cell phone exchanges. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of such a sampling
Vanyuwa [196]

Answer:

Consider the case of drawing a random sample only from cell phone exchanges instead of surveying randomly generated telephone numbers from non-cell phone exchanges.

With the passing of time, more and more people are leaning towards owning a cell phone instead of a land line.

The proportion of people in the population who use cell phones is gradually increasing when compared to non-cell phone users

Major fraction of the population now consists of cell phone users

In future there will be sharp increase in this fraction

So it will be advantageous to draw a random sample only from cell phone exchanges instead of surveying randomly generated telephone numbers from non-cell phone exchanges. It improves the chance of including more people (people who do not stay at homes during the time of survey will be contacted only though cell phones which is impossible in the case of non-cell phone users)

But there are some disadvantages. Not every person has an equal chance. People without cell phones are excluded. Cell phone users could not be contacted many times due to many reasons (absence of network coverage, power shortage, or if they were not allowed to carry their phones to work places or to some highly secured places)
