<u>The sentence above is incorrect because all we used to join the sentences was a comma. To make it right, we should either add a coordinating conjunction after the comma (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, and so) or use a semicolon instead of a comma:</u>

- There's a test today, so I hope you studied for it.

- There's a test today; I hope you studied for it.
