Delvig [45]
The filled in dot means inclusive and the hallow dot means exclusive. For an inequality, inclusive will mean it can be equal to that number as well as being less or greater than. Exclusive means the opposite.
In terms of x, the number line shows that -2 <= x < 2.

Jimmy can run 3.5 miles in 20 minutes. How far can he run in one hour and ten minutes?
Dmitry [639]

Answer:

12.25 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

We can write a proportion to solve.  Miles over time in minutes

1 hour = 60 minutes

1 hours 10 minutes = 60+10 = 70 minutes

3.5 miles         x miles

---------------   = --------------

20 minutes         70 minutes

Using cross products

3.5 *70 = 20x

245 = 20x

Divide each side by 20

245/20 = 20x/20

12.25 =x

Jimmy can go 12.25 miles

I’m horrible at math lol
Svetradugi [14.3K]
The answer is A I am pretty sure. This is because in choice B, you would be dividing 7 and the sum of x + 5. In choice C you would not be multiplying 7 and the sum of x + 5. When he question asks for the product, it is asking for you to multiply. In choice D you would not just be squaring y, you would be squaring 2xy, which is not what we want. We only want to square y, therefore I believe the correct answer is A.

Find the indicated term of the given geometric sequence. a1 = 14, r = –2, n = 11
Vesnalui [34]

Answer:

a_{11} = 14336

Step-by-step explanation:

The general formula for the twelfth term of a geometric sequence is:

a_n = a_1(r)^{n-1}

Where a_1 is the first term and r is the common ratio

In this case we know that:

a_1 = 14\\r=-2

The equation is:

a_n = 14(-2)^{n-1}

So for n = 11 we look for a_{11}

a_{11} = 14(-2)^{11-1}

a_{11} = 14(-2)^{10}

a_{11} = 14336
