I'm pretty sure that the answer is "slaves had no recognized rights".

Explanation: If they are slaves, they are owned by romans, so they were not equal to other roman citizens and therefore did not have more rights than many romans. And since they were owned by people, I think that they did not had very limited legal rights. hope this helps! ;)
