Explanation:

One of the biggest victories in the Civil Rights Movement, the Civil Rights Act completely banned the segregation that was running rampant through America. Additionally, it outlawed employment discrimination. In other words, someone wasn't allowed to be turned away from a job just because they were black(though this still happened often).
