Will give brainliest!! please help guys !!
Alex17521 [72]

What we are reading here is an interesting excerpt from the Freedmen's Bureau Act, which was signed on March 3, in the year 1865. This was an act which purpose was to establish a Bureau for the relief of freedmen and refugees after the surrender of the Confederate Army in the American Civil War.

Question 1:

After reading this passage the following statement would be the most accurate: B) This law was designed to improve the lives of former slaves. The term 'freedmen' refers to the former African American slaves, and the excerpt relates how they will go through this process and what goods and rights they will be granted.

A) is incorrect, as this is a text regarding the American Civil War that took place between 1861 and 1865, and not the Revolutionary War which took place from 1775 and 1783

C) makes sense, however, this is not the main idea of this excerpt and there is no way to know for sure that he directly oversay the carrying out of this law. We only know that he enacted the bill.

D) is incorrect, as the bill was active since it was enacted and for one year thereafter

Question 2:

According to this passage, those most impacted by this law: B) Could receive clothes, shelter and land. The text especifies how the freedmen and refugees would be granted these goods which included shelter, clothes and land for the remainding of war for one year thereafter.

A) is incorrect as the law was not directed to Confederate officials.

C) is incorrect, as the law was inmediatly put into action.

D) is incorrect. This text does not speak of freedmen and refugees having to leave the place where they currently lived.

Hope this helps. Happy holidays!

IXL run on sentences question, please don’t get it wrong I love more than 1 person answering!!
Serhud [2]

Answer:

The run on sentence here is, "Sprained ankles are common injuries for athletes, a sprain may not even need treatment."

Explanation:

A run-on sentence happens when two or more independent clauses are fused incorrectly. There are two types of run-on sentences. There are fused sentences and comma splices.

A fused sentence transpires when independent clauses work collectively with no signs of punctuation or correlating conjunctions to distribute them. A comma splice befalls when two or more independent clauses are linked exclusively by a comma.

When talking about, "Sprained ankles are common injuries for athletes, a sprain may not even need treatment." The part that is wrong here is the comma before "a." This is wrong because this is a massive voice missue.

The comma would mean to take a pause, which is a missue in human beings voice.

To correct this you would put a period for a full stop in that sentence and continue with the subject afterwords.

"Sprained ankles are common injuries for athletes. A sprain may not even need treatment.

You subsitute the comma with a period and make the lowercase an uppercase A.
