The Little Rock Nine took place in Little Rock, AR and was the time when segrgation had just become illegal. Many white supremists were not happy about this and had such strong feelings about the situations that the govenor of AR ordered the National Guard to protect the nine while they drove into Central Park HS, which was an all white school.

They were still segregated while they were in the U.S military. They even lived on a separate field even though they were fighting the same battles as the others.
