Some say that the treaty is the leading cause of World War 2 as it caused Germany to feel complete hatred and fear for the allies, and failed to put proper restrictions onto German military.

The Tennessee Supreme Court overturned this verdict in 1927 for a formal error, as it had not been handed down by the jury, as it should have been, but by the president of the court personally.
