Answer:

Brooke put the value 12 into the cups of juice, and not the cups of sugar.  She was searching for how many cups of sugar she needs, not juice.

Step-by-step explanation:

2/3 = ?/12.

This is how the equation is supposed to be.  Then you solve it from there.

Do cross multiplication.

24 = 3x

Divide by 3 on both sides.

x = 8.

She needs 8 cups of juice.

Also, I hope everything goes well at school!  Good luck :)

Can someone please solve this
Mrac [35]

This one takes time to type all the math work.

Let me see.

There are two triangles here.

They both have the same area.

A = (1/2)(base)(height) times 2

A = (1/2)(42)(56) times 2

A = 1,176 times 2

A = 2,352 inches^2.

We also have three rectangles. We need to find the area of each rectangle individually.

Area of bottom rectangle = 42 times 72 or 3,024 inches^2.

Area of back rectangle = 56 times 72 or 4,032 inches^2.

Area of slanted rectangle = 70 times 72 0r 5,040 inches^2.

We now add all the areas together to find the total area of the entire figure.

Total Area = 2,352 inches^2 + 3,040 inches^2 + 4,032 inches^2 + 5,040 inches^2

Total area = 14,448 inches^2

Done!

What is the x and y intercept of each equation?
Talja [164]
The "x" intercept is where a line would mark across the "x" axis.

The "y" intercept is where a line would mark across the "y" axis.

X is horizontal and Y is vertical.

This season, the probability that the Yankees will win a game is 0.48 and the probability that the Yankees will score 5 or more
gavmur [86]

Answer:

0.33

Step-by-step explanation:

We can think of this in tems of a venn diagram.

We have a rectangle, which represents the probabilities combined, which is 1.

Then we have two interlocking circles, the first representing the probability the yankees win, the second representing the probability the yankes score 5 or more runs, and the overlap representing the probability of both.

Therefore, the probability of losing and scoring less than 5 runs must be the area outside the circles but inside the rectangle.

The union of 'winning' and 'scoring 5 or more runs' is equal to the sum of the probability of either, minus the probability of both, which is 0.48+0.57-0.38 = 0.67.

Therefore the probability neither happen is 1-0.67 = 0.33
