Explanation: In Central Europe, on the night before Christmas, Santa brings gifts and gives them out to children. Although, in many European countries, Nicholas's Day may take place on either December 5th or 6th. On either of these days, children receive their presents. Saint Nicholas Day also recognizes the third-century saint. This is the saint who became an inspiration for the modern-day Santa Claus, St. Nicholas. He is known for selling all his goods as well as giving his financial earnings away to the poor. Later, Nicholas became part of the inspiration for the modern-day Santa Claus. When Nicholas arrives, he is known to leave gifts in either shoes and stockings, or both, on the morning of December 6th. These gifts tend to be on a small-scale compared to the Christmas presents we receive on the 25th. These traditional gifts include apples and coins.
