Margaret [11]
Even though I haven't read the story, based on textual clues in these sentences I would say the correct answer is B. “The waiting man pulled out a handsome watch, the lids of it set with small diamonds.”
The reason why is that you can't really have a watch lined with diamonds unless you've worked really hard to get it. This man has hustled his whole life and in the end, he has done well for himself in life, which is evident by his expensive watch.

Essay 350 A trip you will never forget.
OverLord2011 [107]

Answer:

Explanation:

I woke up on Sunday the 2nd of May 2010, so full of excitement. It was still very early in the morning, but all of my excitement kept me awake.

Our flight to Brisbane from Rockhampton was at 2:00pm that afternoon. It seemed to take so long. While I was waiting, I checked I had packed everything. Being far away from home you need to remember everything.

2:00pm came eventually. We drove to the airport, we were all very excited. I remember sitting down in the airport and hearing “Those boarding Qf2357, please make your way through security”. I leapt out of my seat so eager to get on the plane.

By the end of the day we were all settled in our Hotel in Brisbane. The next morning I got woke up hearing “Come on Kiddies we are going to Los Angles, USA, get up and get ready. That morning was the quickest I ever seen anyone get out of bed.

We got ready had breakfast, and were at the airport soon after.

When we arrived in Los Angles, we went to a cafe for breakfast; they serve huge amounts over there.

While we were there we went to Disney land for 4 days! That was so much fun. We also went to Denny’s, their food is so yummy! I could eat it all day.

Next we flew to New York, such an amazing place, with so much history. It was very fun; we visited the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Time Square, and Central park.

For the first time in my life I saw a squirrel! It was so exciting.

After a few day’s we flew to Washington DC, where we saw the White House and Lincoln Memorial. It was so fun.

Soon we flew to Toronto, Canada. “What a lovely place”, Mum said. We all wish we had more that 3 days here. In Toronto we went to Niagara Falls. Such an amazing site! Toronto was one of my favorite's.

Our last flight in America was to Chicago. That is where Mum and Dad hired a car. We drove on the freeway. It was quite scary, but we got used to it after awhile. In Chicago we met up with some friends and drove Route 66 back to Los Angles.

From there we flew back home on the 3rd of June to Australia.

A trip I’ll never forget.

HELP MEEEEEEEEE PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 20 POINTS AND BRAINILEST ANSWER!!!
strojnjashka [21]
Muir starts off talking about how long he had been sitting by the Calypso-so long that he wasn't tired or hungry anymore. We, as the readers, think he has a bad attitude about sitting by this plant.

he is describing his wait as painful(he is WAY past being tired or hungry). However, the next sentence contrasts with this idea. When the sun sets, Muir suddenly gets this jolt of purpose and energy, stronger and determined than ever before. Can you see the pattern here? As for the dialogue, it is a woman speaking, and she lives in the log house he sees. She has a negative attitude towards the swamp, while Muir has a positive one. She wonders why he would want to be in a dangerous place like the swamp, explaining that a body was found in it. She then goes on to say that it was God's mercy that Muir was able to get out of the mucky swamp.

What is the universal theme of the outsiders
Svetlanka [38]

Answer:

The main theme in The Outsiders is social and class conflict. This theme is demonstrated through the two gangs, the Socs and the Greasers. The differences in values and socioeconomic status between the poor Greasers and the wealthy Socs have made them rivals.
