Answer:

He swam 1/2 mile more and biked 1  1/4 mile more in July

Step-by-step explanation:

June -- Bike    4 * ( 3  1/4)  = 13 miles

            Swim 4 * (2  1/2) = 10 miles

July -- Bike   3 * (4  3/4) = 14 1/4 miles

         Swim   3 * (3  1/2) = 10 1/2 miles

14  1/4 - 13 =   1  1/4

10  1/2 - 10 =  1/2

Determine the slope and the y-intercept of the table.
Shtirlitz [24]

To find slope use y2 - y1 / x2 - x1. I would suggest doing this twice just to make sure.

For this one, I will use the first three points. (2,2) (4,5) (6,8)

8 - 5 / 6 - 4 = 3/2

5 - 2 / 4 - 2 = 3/2 = your slope

Now, since there is no (0,y) given, we need to find the y-intercept using . . . You guessed it! Point - slope form! I will use the point (2,2)

y-y₁=m(x-x₁)

y - 2 = 3/2 (x - 2)

y - 2 = 3/2x -3

  +2            +2

Y = 3/2x -1

-1 = your y-intercept form.

Step-by-step explanation:

Using rise/run we can go up 1 and over 2 to get to the next point. When a line is graphed going from top left down to the right, it is negative.
