boyakko [2]
GOUACHE is watercolor that has been made opaque by adding inert white pigment to it.

Further expounding this, it is commonly diluted with water before being applied to paper. However, Gouache is opaque in its natural state. It becomes translucent when a larger amount of water is used to dilute the paint.

Body colour is the use of opaque colours for highlights or dense flat areas and is a technique which has been used in water colour for centuries.

The caves preserved the art showing that they have learned how to create triangular art by carving the stone(similar to the woodcut technique) which would be widdled with a sharp object such as a knife, bones, or a sharp stone. As for the artifacts, the cave walls were painted(proof of art) showing ancient animals and how they hunted by creating weapons(also artifacts). So as you might see, the Blombos caves show artifacts of a higher thinking as well as a form of art.
