Answer:

They are the same

Step-by-step explanation:

25 out of 100 can also be wrote as 25/100. Now percentages can be wrote as decimals or fractions, so you can write 25% as 25/100. If you were compare now they look the exact same.

The answer would be that both goalies are the same and have the same chance at blocking each shot.

This is because 25 out of 100 is %25 and that is also 1/4 in fraction form.

And then, the goal who can block %25 of shots is stated quite explicit so they are the same.

EXPLANATION: The questions asked which one " would lead to a better goalie under the normal circumstances where no one is affected", meaning that in this case, they always have that chance of blocking that many shots.

Since, there is no external factor affecting them, it is an exact 25% chance to block the shots.

An interior designer sketches a design for a rectangular rug. The dimensions of a sketch are 4 inches by 7.5 in. The dimensions
Black_prince [1.1K]

3,000 in.

(4 x 10) + (7.5 x 10) = 3000

The dimensions on the sketch are 10 times less than the actual rug.

40 in., 7.5 in.

The drawing lengths are ten times more, so you just multiply the dimensions by 10, and then multiply the product you find out to find the actual area of the rug.

Help me with my geometry please
Sergio [31]

Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

the exterior angle = 180° - interior angle

(17)

exterior angle = 180° - 144° = 36°

The sum of the exterior angles of a polygon = 360°

Hence the number of sides n is

n = \frac{360}{36} = 10

(18)

exterior angle = 180° - 156° = 24°

n = \frac{360}{24} = 15

(19)

exterior angle = 180° - 160° = 20°

n = \frac{360}{20} = 18

In the following 2 questions we are using that the sum of the interior angles of a quadrilateral is 360°

(20)

summing the angles and equating to 360

2x + 15 + 3x - 20 + x + x + 15 = 360

7x + 10 = 360 ( subtract 10 from both sides )

7x = 350 ( divide both sides by 7 )

x = 50

∠J = 2x + 15 = 100 + 15 = 115°

∠K = 3x - 20 = 150 - 20 = 130°

∠M = x = 50°

∠N = x + 15 = 50 + 15 = 65°

(21)

6x - 4 + 2x + 8 + 6x - 4 + 2x + 8 = 360

16x + 8 = 360 ( subtract 8 from both sides )

16x = 352 ( divide both sides by 16 )

x = 22

∠R = ∠T = 6x - 4 = 132 - 4 = 128°

∠S = ∠U = 2x + 8 = 44 + 8 = 52°

If two lines intersect and one angle measures 35º, what are the measures of the other angles?
goblinko [34]
One of the other angles will also be 35°.

Because the sum of all the angles will equal to 360, and two of the angles are 35° and 35+35 is 100, the sum of the last two angles will be 260 because 360-100 is 260.

This means that since the last 2 angles are the same and they add up to 260, you divide 260 by 2 to get 130.

This means the last two angles are 130°.

The measures of all the other angles are 35°, 130° and 130° again.

Find the local extreme values of the function f(x, y) = xy - x2 - y2 - 3x - 3y + 12
aev [14]
f(x,y)=xy-x^2-y^2-3x-3y+12

First compute the first-order partial derivatives and find the critical points.

f_x=y-2x-3
f_y=x-2y-3

Both first order derivatives vanish at (x,y)=(-3,-3).

Computing the Hessian, we get

\mathbf H(x,y)=\begin{bmatrix}f_{xx}&f_{xy}\\f_{yx}&f_{yy}\end{bmatrix}=\begin{bmatrix}-2&1\\1&-2\end{bmatrix}

We have \det\mathbf H(x,y)=3>0, which means (-3,-3) is an extremum of f(x,y). Since f_{xx}(-3,-3)=-2, this extremum is a local maximum of f(x,y) with a value of 21.
