I loved my mother more than I loved any other person on the planet. She smelled like fresh baked cookies and had a smile that could light up an entire room. So, the day that I had to say goodbye to her was very difficult for me. I still remember the way she looked at me when she told me she had to leave. She promised me she would be back in a few months, but I still hugged her so tightly I thought my arms would break. I watched from the kitchen window as her car rolled down the street and out of sight.
